Last month I went in for a jewelry downsize for my second lobe piercings (which were 4 months old and had been pierced at a different shop). First, I waited almost an hour because the piercer had double booked all his appointments. When I was finally taken back to have my jewelry changed, the appointment felt rushed. The piercer criticized the way my piercings were done, and did not autoclave/sterilize the new jewelry; he took it from a shared container of backs and put it directly into my ears. I thought it was weird at the time, but trusted that he knew what he was doing. The appointment was done in less than 5 minutes and cost $40. Over the last few weeks, one of my lobes has been getting more painful, swollen, and red. It's developed a bump on the back and has become infected, which I suspect is from the non-sterile jewelry. Definitely will not be going back here. I've had jewelry changes elsewhere that were more sterile, much cheaper, and the piercer was more knowledgeable and considerate.

I can't say enough about this shop! The shop is super clean, inviting and very friendly..the work they do is incredible. I had been wanting to get a new piece and had some ideas in mind but couldn't find the right artist for what I was wanting. I was very picky looking at different artist all over Mass and even reached out to one in NH. I was recently scrolling through Instagram and Abel's profile popped up and I decided to click and did some digging into his work. I was really impressed with his line work and shading, attention to detail and his personality through his Instagram stories and posts. I decided to reach out and he replied to me in a timely manner and we went back and forth with my thoughts, he gave his opinions and suggested things..he finally came up with a design after a few days and it was almost perfect, we went back and made a couple tweaks and we landed on something I was so impressed with and couldn't wait for my appointment..I showed up a a little early for my appointment, he greeted me right away and made me feel at home. I was there for about 6 1/2 hours and we finished. Many people who came into the shop as well as other artists there commented how great it was. By the end felt like family..we chatted and got to know each other a bit. I would and already have recommended him to a few people who are looking for their next piece. I can't wait to come up with something else for him to so. Thank you Chris

Gina was so kind and helpful and did a great job on my first tattoo! The other staff (namely Eddie) are also super helpful and want you to have the best experience possible. Eddie told me to try another tattoo position with the stencil and it was perfect. Everyone there is super nice and makes sure you get what you want! I def recommend Gina and honestly every other artist at the studio 🩷🩷🩷

Boston Tattoo Company is awesome. Marcelo did an amazing job on my tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with how it came out. He was super nice, professional, and made the whole experience comfortable from start to finish. The work was very clean and exactly what I wanted. I’d absolutely recommend Marcelo and Boston Tattoo Company to anyone looking to get great work done.

We visited Boston this past week and scheduled our tattoos a few months in advance. Scheduling was incredibly easy. Based on your consult the shop will pair you up with an artist that is best matched with your request. The shop was so easy to find (Newbury St location) and the staff were incredible. Our artist Abel made us feel welcomed. The shop was very clean and we were there when he set up his space after he designed our tattoo. Admittedly we were the tourists but felt totally welcomed and comfortable throughout! I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly artist as well. I would definitely recommend this shop and Abel!!! If you are considering getting a tattoo while in Boston I would highly recommend Boston Tattoo Co and of course Abel
